U.S. Sweeps Men’s Slopestyle Skiing during Day 8
Sochi’s Rosa Khutor Extreme Center slopes have gained the U.S. many victories over the past few days, and, as of Day 8, Feb. 13, it provided three more. The U.S.’s Joss Christensen (gold), Guy Kenworthy (silver), and Nicholas Goepper (bronze) took all three medals during the men’s slopestyle event to place the U.S. into the “bronze,” or third place, in the Olympic medal tally. Currently, the U.S. is tied for second with 14 medals in terms of quantity with Russia in first place with 15, but in terms of value of the medals, it sits at sixth, with Germany standing at the top with seven out of their 12 medals being gold.
