Urban’s boys varsity basketball team cruised to its second victory of the season on Friday, Nov. 30, boosting its record to 2-0 with a decisive win over Leadership High School.
“We were pretty confident coming in … I think we did a good job of being confident but prepared,” said team captain Harry Krinsky (’13) after the boys’ 71-25 season-opening victory over Crystal Springs on Nov. 28. The team’s confidence carried the Blues in Friday’s 72-41 win, Krinsky said.
After Friday’s game, Krinsky said, “we’ve lost by 30, 40, 50 points before. We keep stressing the idea that we should act like we’ve been here (referring to large margins). We can’t get pumped and super-excited when we win games like that because everyone on this team feels like those are the games we absolutely should win.”
The Blues play their first of three games against Carlmont High in the Cardinal Classic on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Lowell High School.
