2015 brings new hair styles to Urban School
Over the last year, Urban’s hair trends have changed. Many boys are sporting the “Macklemore” hairstyle, which consists of buzzed sides and a longer styled chunk on the top. Jack Gallo (’16) was one of the first to start the trend. “My haircut was inspired by some of my favorite soccer players.” Said Gallo “I was going for a Jack Wilshire (soccer player) kind of look.” Gallo later said that “the style is popular in the media, and thus caught on with the rest of Urban boys.” In November of 2014, the boys cross country team decided that they were all going to sport the cut. Ever since, more and more boys have been seen with it. Another big trend is the shoulder length cut for girls. Around the same time as the Macklemore haircut became popular, girls began cutting their hair short.
